This is the best food addition to Tenleytown in years. I’m a regular on the weekends and it’s hands down the best Buffalo Chicken sandwich in DC. Be sure to add the jalapeno Cole slaw.

There's not too much to say about Roaming Rooster. If you want a consistently good fried chicken sandwich, this is our favorite spot in the city. They have a range of spiciness levels to accommodate all guests and several different sandwich/non-sandwich options to choose from. These sandwiches are messy, so I wouldn't suggest eating them on the go (e.g., on public transportation, while driving). Their side of fries is very large, enough so that we shared the order three ways and were still unable to finish everything. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but circle the block a few times, and you are likely to find something.

The Roaming Rooster was very clean and the staff were excellent. The Oreo milkshake was absolutely amazing. I gave the food 4 stars only because the slaw, in my opinion, needed to be finer sliced or shredded and with a bit more vinaigrette. I also would have liked more seasoning on the fries. That being said, I would definitely go back.

Best fried chicken sandwiches in the DMV . I. I got the honey chicken , it was very good and the spice was subtle enough to let the flavors shine through. The service was great and fast

This chicken is delicious. I love it with their yummy fries and also on the coleslaw salad. The only reason I deduct a star is because it is very inconsistent on spice level. I get medium spice and sometimes they are super spicy and hard to eat and sometimes hardly any spice at all. Wish they could work on consistency of spice level.

Love this place. The hot honey butter chicken is phenomenal. They recently started doing breakfast and they're blowing it out of the water too.

This place has the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in a very long time. You walk in and they have a Bob Ross painting show running it’s adorable. Decor is minimal and clean. Came in at the right time before a line of 7 people walked in behind me. I got a combination of the extra hot buffalo chicken and the club. Extra hot sauce was spicy but still not enough for my liking. Chicken breast was super juicy and the applewood smoked bacon was perfectly thick and crunchy.

Good sandwiches and made to order fries. Tried the Nashville hot and butter chicken sandwich. Both came out hot and seasoned well. Extra sauce on the side is on point. Location is accessible on a busy street. Staff is polite and ready to help with orders. Indoor seating is clean and bright.
